Palmetto Bay

Palmetto Bay is known as The Village of Parks, as there are 5 parks located within its boundaries. If an active, outdoorsy neighborhood is what you are looking for, this is it. Palmetto Bay might not boast a ton of nightlife or entertainment, but its connection to nature makes up for it. It’s safe and great for families and retirees, with everything one needs to live comfortably closeby.

Deering Estate: There is a lot to do here for kids, including Nature Camps, Scout Programs, Homeschooling Curriculums and Naturalist Training programs. Deering Estate runs an impressive arts initiative, with seasonal exhibits, plays, concerts and other collaborations. There are nature tours, moonlit kayak tours, night hikes and campfires. Be sure to check the calendar for a list of weekly activities. Or, simply stroll the historic home itself!

Palmetto Bay Farmers Market: Palmetto Bay Farmers Market is a great choice to do your Saturday shopping. It is open all year with an array of local produce, international coffees, locally baked goods and more for sale. There are often workshops on the schedule, where you can learn about different plants, herbs and gardening techniques.

Coral Reef Park: Coral Reef Park is more than 50 acres of green space with canals and pineland preserves. Aside from walking/jogging trails, you can find beach volleyball courts, a playground, softball fields, racquetball and tennis courts. It is one of 5 parks that call Palmetto Bay home, giving residents a wide variety of atmospheric change.
